Edison builds 7 photovoltaic plants in Piedmont of 45 MW

ESI revenues and profitability decreasing in 2023

(Telestock) – Edisonhas announced the creation, through its subsidiary Edison Rinnovabili, of seven new photovoltaic plants in Piedmontin the provinces of Alessandria and Turin, for a total power of 45 MW.

“We are increasing our installed photovoltaic capacity in a a particularly strategic region for uswhere we are also present with our 46 hydroelectric plants with which we contribute to the sustainable growth of the territory and the creation of value for its community – he declares Marco Stangalino, Executive Vice President Power Asset of Edison – With the construction of new solar plants in the provinces of Turin and Alessandria, we are taking a step forward in the deployment of new renewable energy in order to reach 40% green production in our production mix by 2030″.

In detail, four of the seven new plants built are entered into operation in recent months; three instead, whose works were completed in 2023, are waiting for the connection to the national electricity grid, which should occur by the end of 2024. In addition to these, there are two other photovoltaic plants, already previously in Edison’s portfolio, in the province of Alessandria and in operation since 2011.

THE nine plants they have a production capacity of 70 GWh per year, capable of satisfying the energy needs of 26 thousand families and avoiding the emission into the atmosphere of over 30 thousand tons of CO2.
