Ecological and digital transition, the second stage of the ACEA Innovation Tour in Naples

(Finance) – It took place today the second stage of the Acea Innovation Tour in Naples, which took place in the Congress Center of the Neapolitan capital in the square of the Maritime Station, within the “Green Med Symposium”. The event, one week after the first stage in Terni, was broadcast in live streaming on Ricicla TV and – Acea said in a note – addressed the issues of the ecological and digital transition through the story of innovative solutions proposed by Acea Groupby the companies of the Group present in the Campania region, Gesesa And GorifromDepartment of Innovation of the Campania Regionfrom the technological player Atos and the startup UP2YOU. At the center of the day today the panel “The challenges of Open Innovation in the ecological and digital transition” with the interventions of Valeria Fascione, Councilor for Innovation of the Campania Region, Silvia Celani, head of Innovation Acea, Salvatore Rubbo, managing director Gesesa, Vittorio Cuciniello, managing director Gori, Simone Zamblera, Business Development director Acea, Manlio Fabbrocini, head of Business Development UP2YOU, Andrea Di Giorgio, manager of Energy & Utilities and Atos Decarbonization.

Starting from Acea open innovation model, understood as a dynamic ecosystem of startups, SMEs, research centers, universities and technological players at national and international level, the panel talked about the concrete applications and best practices implemented by the Group thanks to the use of latest generation digital technologies that , from a smart water company perspective, they allow a state-of-the-art network monitoring system and greater protection of the water resource, in line with Acea’s sustainability strategies and the United Nations sustainable development goals.

With a view to achieving the objectives of the 2030 Agenda, on the issue of decarbonisation, the multiutility has proposed the experience of Waidy WoW which, together with the startup UP2YOU, has developed a system of certified calculation of C02 savings obtainable using the 50 thousand drinking water supply points mapped by the application and distributed in all regions of Italy, including those in which the Group’s water companies operate.

“In this second stage of the Innovation Tour – he declared Ivan Vigolo, chief innovation & information officer Acea – we intend to consolidate the relationship with the territories in which the Group operates, proposing itself as a partner in the search for cutting-edge solutions for an increasingly efficient management of primary services. In fact, we want to share our innovation strategy, intended as a service to communities, to implement a development model in which innovation and digitalization are inevitably integrated with the principles of sustainability and ecological transition “.

In the next few days, also within the “Green Med Symposium”, the Group will also be present with interventions on e-mobility and waste transition. Valerio Marra, commercial director of Acea and president of Acea Innovation, and Marco Palazzesi, head of the Business & Development Unit of Acea Ambiente.

The Acea Innovation Tour will end in Rome with the third and final stage, at the Officine Farneto, on 8 July.
