(Finance) – Dalla Bundesbank still a “nein” at the end of the interest rate hike cycle of the ECB. Present at the Jackson Hole symposium, the governor of the German central bank, Joachim Nageldid not want to take a position, postponing one decision in September.
“For me it is too early to think about a break – admitted the banker interviewed by Bloomberg – I think we have to wait for the next numbers”.
“At the July board we agreed to wait for the numbers that we will see in the September meeting and I will follow this path”, explained Nagel, recalling that core inflation is still ‘persistent’ and that a 5% inflation rate is still above the 2% target “there is still some way to go”.
