Ebba Busch stormed out of the debate with Magdalena Andersson

S leader Magdalena Andersson and Energy and Industry Minister Ebba Busch clashed in the Riksdag’s party leader debate.
They have completely different versions of what talks have taken place about nuclear power.
– It’s a lie, says Busch about Andersson’s version.

After the debate, Ebba Busch (KD) explains to journalists why she threw in the accusation against Andersson as a finishing touch to the retort.

– I don’t think you should get away with a lie. That was way over the line, says Busch.

Last week, Ebba Busch called the talks with the Social Democrats about energy policy historic.

“No real negotiations”

In the Riksdag’s chair, she maintains that the talks with Fredrik Olovsson, energy policy spokesperson for S, have been constructive.

But the S leader has a completely different picture.

– There are no real negotiations, where both parties are prepared to both give and take. Fredrik Olovsson has not had any such negotiations, says Magdalena Andersson.

Olovsson himself has previously told TT that there have been no talks that could lead to an energy agreement. It has been more about the government informing about the upcoming energy policy orientation bill.

– There is no point in inviting me to tell you what the government wants, but the day the government is prepared to negotiate so that we can reach a broad and long-term energy agreement, then we social democrats are naturally prepared to participate, says Andersson.

“Undermining him”

Ebba Busch maintains that she, Olovsson and other Social Democrats have had constructive conversations.

– Either Magdalena Andersson has no idea what he has done or she has now completely undermined him in the chamber, says Busch.

– We have shown them the plug and were prepared to make changes to it, before it went out for consultation. We have lowered the guard completely and were prepared to meet S.
