“The roller coaster of electricity prices is horrible.” This is what Energy and Food Minister Ebba Busch (KD) writes on X.
She further writes that the proses are a result of decommissioned nuclear power.
“When it’s not windy, we get high electricity prices with this failed electricity system,” she writes.
The foundation for new nuclear power has already been laid, continues Ebba Busch, who is also Deputy Prime Minister.

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán have discussed the war in Ukraine in a telephone conversation.
The Kremlin describes the conversation as “a thorough exchange of views on Ukrainian issues”.
Among other things, Putin is said to have said that Ukraine has adopted a “destructive” position that excludes a peace agreement.
According to the Kremlin, the conversation was held at Hungary’s request and Orbán is said to have expressed an interest in helping to find “political-diplomatic ways to resolve the crisis”.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy criticizes Orbán after the conversation.
“No one should strengthen their personal image at the expense of unity: everyone should focus on common success. Unity in Europe has always been the key to achieving this,” he writes on X.

New sanctions package against Russia – and China
EU member states agree on their 15th sanctions package due to Russia’s renewed war against Ukraine.
“The ambassadors have just agreed. The package adds several people and companies to the previous sanctions lists,” writes Hungary, the country holding the presidency of the Council of Ministers, on X.
For the first time, even individual Chinese representatives are now expected to suffer sanctions in the form of frozen assets and visa bans to the EU.
The news site Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty has previously reported that sanctions are proposed against a Chinese and six Chinese companies, which are considered to be helping Russia with equipment for the war in Ukraine. In the past, Chinese companies have only suffered in the form of trade bans on certain equipment that can be used militarily.
In addition, some 40 additional ships, which are designated to help Russia circumvent previous sanctions regarding the country’s oil trade, are also assumed to be placed on the sanctions lists.
The exact details have not yet been made public. Formally, the sanctions decision is expected to be taken when the EU countries’ foreign ministers meet in Brussels on Monday.
