Ebba Busch (KD) wants to review immigrants’ right to vote

The government has appointed an inquiry that works with proposals for stricter requirements for citizenship. The investigation will be presented in January next year.

But Ebba Busch, the leader of the Christian Democrats and deputy prime minister, also wants to review the rules for immigrants’ right to vote in general elections.

– We allow people to vote in municipal elections fairly easily. It can freak out a majority in an entire municipality, says Ebba Busch to Aftonbladet.

Specifies no limit

Today, the requirement is that you must have been registered in the national register for three years in order to vote.

– There you can think about where the annual limit should go, says Busch to Aftonbladet without going into where she wants the limit to go.
