Busch (KD) and Lööf (C) smoked together on Sweden’s radio

Ebba Busch (KD) brought a falu sausage to the final debate on Sweden’s radio to describe the rising prices.

Annie Lööf (C) countered by calling her a populist.

– I think Annie Lööf had decided to call me a populist before she even heard the proposals, Busch said then.

It’s a real falu sausage, said Ebba Busch (KD) after she held up the sausage on the radio – which no listener saw.

IN Sweden’s radios final debate, she and Annie Lööf (C) met in a duel about finances. To shed light on the price increase, Busch brought the falu sausage, a symbol of what she believes has been good about Sweden.

– But this is also the symbol of everything that is wrong with Sweden now, because a falu sausage used to cost 25 kroner a year ago, now it costs 40 kroner, since we have received Magdaprices, Steneviskatter and Annie supplements on both electricity and fuel.

Her solution to the Swedes’ falu sausage problem is, among other things, to introduce a high-cost protection that she wants to implement together with the right side, for the four most difficult months of winter.

– We will continue to push to lower the reduction obligation, which the Center Party is still in favor of, unfortunately. It could result in a nine kroner lower price for diesel, this is important if we are to bring down the price of everything that is good about our country, falu sausage and other things.

– That’s what a populist sounds like, Annie Lööf answered then.

The center party’s party leader went on to say that already last winter she wanted to sit down and come to an agreement on how to push down electricity prices, something the right side said no to.

– I think Annie Lööf had decided to call me a populist before she even heard the proposals, says Busch.

– Actually I didn’t, I listened to you, answered Annie Lööf.

The expert: No evidence for such high sausage prices

If Ebba’s claim about the falu sausage were to be true, a price increase of 15 kroner in one year, the increase would be approximately 60 percent.

Aftonbladet has spoken to Michael Kärrberg, CEO of Foodrunners, which has a service that compares thousands of goods in stores. They have chosen to specialize in butter, snacks, bread and falu sausage.

– Now Ebba held a falu sausage ring and there are significantly fewer people who buy one from Scan than their medium-sized part. Therefore, it is a good reference product that we usually use as an example. The average price of Scan’s faluko deli is SEK 41.72 in Swedish stores, according to Michael Kärrberg.

– The cheapest we find this year is SEK 34.11 for the same falu sausage, which gives a price increase of 22.3 percent.

He says he can’t talk about the price increase for the particular falu sausage that Ebba Busch showed off.

– But I have proof of the increase of 22.3 percent in almost a thousand Swedish stores.
