The role model Ebba

Årsjö has also stepped forward as a great role model by openly talking about and showing off his injured leg in a highly noticed and appreciated picture on Instagram, see it below. Ebba was born with Klippel-Trenaunay syndrome and has severe muscle weakness in her right leg, which has affected her enormously while growing up.
– I should really be sitting at an office because the leg takes so much damage. It’s a balancing act. I get hurt, but everything I get out of the sport outweighs it. So far, it’s worth it. I really want to run another Paralympics, then we’ll see how long I can keep going. I keep going until my body says no. Or ah, the leg has said no for a long time, but I will keep going until it really can’t go anymore, she tells SportExpressen.

“Afraid of it”

Ebba Årsjö admits that it is quite special to have now found love and talks about the horror from when she was little.
– It was something that I was afraid of throughout my upbringing, that I thought I would never find someone who would love me for who I was and how I looked. But when you grow up, you understand that it is not like that. The boys are also becoming more mature and adults, she says in the interview.

Growing up has been tough for Ebba and she has also been extremely frustrated by her weak leg. But today she feels completely different and looks at her situation with pride.
– I love my leg. I don’t want anything else but that, because that leg has made me who I am. Then it’s still the case that one out of three days I’m mad at my leg and hate it. I have days like that too, because it’s still really hard when it hurts or when it’s sunny and hot outside. I have to wear a medical compression stocking when I’m out. It is very tight and it gets very hot then, which is a pain in the ass. But even if I have hard days, I still love my leg, she tells the evening newspaper.
