Ebba Andersson’s wonderful message of strength for the winter – won by far in the wrong sport

Ebba Andersson is in great shape ahead of the new season.
At least if her latest results are to be believed.
This weekend she was a smash hit – in the wrong sport.

Ebba Andersson entered the last ski season with enormous expectations. She became the big medal queen at the World Championships in Planica in 2013, when she went home with two golds and two bronzes, and many had expected her to take another step this winter.

Troubled winter

But it really didn’t turn out that way. Ebba Andersson certainly started the season brilliantly with two victories and four podiums even before the Christmas break. But then Andersson was affected by Covid, which meant that she did not recover before the Tour de Ski, which was last season’s big highlight for many skiers in the World Cup. Andersson was forced to break the tour, and she then never recovered during the World Cup’s conclusion.

But now Andersson has had a whole summer of training and pre-season, and before the winter, where the WC in Trondheim is what everyone is looking forward to the most, it seems that Ebba Andersson is strong. She hasn’t had any problems with injury or illness and has just had to focus on getting better, and it seems to be showing in the charts now.

Won in the “wrong” sport

On Instagram, Ebba Andersson shared pictures over the weekend of her competing in the “Mountain Marathon” in Sälen. According to the results lists, it was also a smash hit for the skiing star. Andersson competed in the 10-kilometer class, and came second of all who competed in that distance.

She was also, by a full six minute margin(!), the superior winner of all the ladies who entered. Andersson ran to the finish line in 46:14 in the presumably very tough terrain, and it is an urgent message of strength for what is to come this winter.
