– It is a championship year and it is important to prioritize a bit. Where do I want to focus on competitions and where do I want to get some training periods in? I see before Christmas as a good opportunity considering that I still want to prioritize the tour in a championship year like this.

The Swedish ski star is one of the few cross-country skiers who will bet on the Tour de Ski this winter, most choose to prioritize the mini-tour because of the ski World Cup. However, Andersson does not know if more of the Swedish national team riders will opt out of Davos.
– Maybe not specifically just that. I know, however, that many of my friends in the national team will also prioritize away certain competition weekends on the way to the WC, of course. Because it costs money to be out in the World Cup circus and if you want to be in the best shape for the World Cup, it is important to also find time to get some training in, she tells the evening newspaper.
