Ebba Andersson’s slur to Therese Johaug: “I win WC gold”

Another ski season will soon begin for our national team skiers.
The long-awaited WC season is here and Ebba Andersson has been waiting.
Now the Swede reveals why she will win the WC gold this winter.

The ski season is fast approaching and it will be incredibly exciting to follow this winter’s drama. The world’s best cross-country skiers have been preparing all summer and fall to get their bodies in perfect balance.

Johaug’s comeback

It’s WC season again and this time the cross-country championship will be decided on Norwegian soil in Trondheim early in 2025. The big talking point is, of course, the skiing queen Therese Johaugs talked about a comeback and many claim that she is as good as when she quit just over two years ago.

During the pre-season, most of the focus has been directed at Johaug and one who has had enough of it is Ebba Andersson.
– There have been enough questions (about Johaug) that I’m already tired of them and then the season hasn’t even started. I won’t get more fired up about those questions either, each time they come. But you have to try to get used to it, she says in an interview with P4 Västernorrland.

Ebba’s fit

The Swede is of course also one of the early favorites for the gold medals in the skiing WC, especially when she became WC queen most recently in Planica with two individual WC golds. The reigning champion will do everything to defend his gold and is now sending a clear pass to rival Therese Johaug.
– I win WC gold this winter because I succeed the best on the specific day in the specific competition, she says to the radio channel.
– The goal is absolutely gold and that I will defend the gold I managed to win in Planica.

The big challenge for Ebba Andersson will be to get in top shape during the two weeks in Trondheim where the WC is decided.
– It is always a challenge to stay healthy, injury-free may not be as much in winter time, but there is more concern about diseases and that they should not come at the wrong time, she says in the interview.
– It’s always a big challenge to find the shape and nail it, when you want it the most. I want to be in top form at the WC, but then I also want to be in good shape when the time comes for the Tour de Ski. I’ll try to get that equation together, even if it won’t be easy.
