Ebba Andersson became this winter’s WC queen.
With less than three weeks left until the premiere, she has now given a statement.
And a good one at that!
Yes, last season was a good season to say the least Ebba Andersson, 26. She won four medals, two of which were gold, and was named WC queen. There were also four victories in the World Cup for the star skater.
Andersson’s decision
Several of her teammates in the national team have gone here and there during the post-season. But ahead of the summer and pre-season, Ebba decided to spend a lot of time at home in Östersund. This is to take advantage of their “free” time, i.e. competition-free time – because of course it has still been practiced. She didn’t want to prioritize high-altitude training in the same way, as well as being close to family, friends, and her boyfriend Gustavbefore all the traveling to competitions starts.

Now, however, Andersson has gathered with several of his compatriots at a training camp in Vålådalen. Frida Karlsson and Moa Ilar missing then they prioritized high-altitude training in Livigno.
During Tuesday, the cross-country skiers ran a sprint competition on site in Vålådalen. A training competition for the riders on site at the camp, but the winning skulls certainly take it very seriously anyway! As it should be – on social media, the national ski team has shown off the nice prizes the winners get.
Ebba’s form message
Tuesday’s sprint was hardly surprising for the sprint specialist Jonna Sundling. She has said that she wants to focus more on longer distances, but Sundling has not lost her sprint expertise for that. Was second Johanna Hagström and in third place came Emma Ribom. Ebba Andersson, whose specialty is rather distances, came fourth.

But on Thursday it was finally time for the winter WC queen to shine. The 26-year-old won training competition number two, namely a distance race. Ebba drove the 13 kilometers in 33 and a half minutes, and shows good form for the premiere.
Emma Ribom got second place this time as well, after she finished 46 seconds after Andersson. Third was Moa Lundgren.
Cross-country skiing’s Swedish premiere takes place in Gällivare November 17-19, before the World Cup gets underway the following weekend.
