Andersson’s grief

But after the successes came the tough sad news for the Swedish skiing hero. A few weeks ago, Ebba was touched by the tragic fact that her grandmother Nora-Maja Andersson passed away, she was 99 years old.
– I miss her so much already. But I try to focus on the positive parts. In how much time we still got together. After all, she only had two months left until she would turn 100, the granddaughter tells SportExpressen.

Grandma meant a lot to Ebba Andersson and played a big part in her important childhood and youth years.
– Yes indeed. Throughout my upbringing, I spent all my summer holidays with her in Delsbo. Lived and was there with her for eight weeks. And even in recent years it has been at least a couple of weeks every summer. Since then, we have always been heard every week, she says in the interview.
– I have grandmother to thank for having some kind of gunpowder in me to bring along.

Ebba’s last meeting with grandmother Nora-Maja was in connection with Easter. Then she and the boyfriend Gustaf Berglund went and greeted her.
– I am very grateful that we got to meet her so close to the end. But then we didn’t understand at all that it would happen this quickly. She will be sorely missed. I can see what a big impression she left on me. But I get a lump in my stomach at once when we talk about this, the national team star admits to the evening newspaper.

The sadness is palpable in Ebba Andersson’s life as she now prepares for the coming ski season.
