Ebba Andersson’s great grief after the accident in the World Cup – comforted by Frida

Ebba Andersson had a great chance to take a medal in the World Cup five mile, but just before the rally she hooked into Frida Karlsson’s ski and fell to the ground.
In the end, she came four and missed a medal.
– Right now I just feel so empty as well. It is hardly so that I can even take tears, she tells Viaplay.

It was an incredibly dramatic ending to the women’s five miles in the World Cup. Frida KarlssonThe Heidi WengThe Therese Johaug and Ebba Andersson Made up on the medals and when the last uphill before the rally came, an incredibly boring accident happened. Ebba and Frida hooked together and Ebba fell and dropped his position in the race.

Ebba Andersson’s great disappointment

Frida, who eventually won the World Cup gold, commented on the event on television afterwards.
– It was so tricky. You had to be so focused. It was so tough conditions and hard to go, she tells Viaplay.
– I understand the disappointment. I was there myself after the skiathlon. She will be disappointed now but her World Cup has been absolutely fantastic. When she sums up it she will be satisfied, she says of Ebba.

Frida Karlsson was seen hugging about Ebba Andersson and they talked through it all. When Ebba then met the press, she described her feelings.
– No, right now I just feel so empty as well. It is hardly so that I can even take the tears because it was not this way I had seen that this race would end. I have felt so strong all day and really done everything I could with preparation and implementation. So it will be in a little shit second … everything turns up and down, she says.

She continues to describe the course of events.
– We are, like all, pretty eager to get first into the slopes and it is very traceable there, so we happen to hook up with our skis there for some strange reason. This is what happens in a competition situation and it is only sad when it happens, says Ebba.

Ebba Andersson leaves the World Cup in Trondheim with three golds, including two individuals. She won both the Skiathlon (20 km) and the 10-kilometer race and the baton together with Karlsson, Jonna Sundling and Emma Ribom.
