Ebba Andersson’s beautiful words about her teammates after the great display – show the greatest respect

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

Ebba Andersson had a great show this weekend.
But still, she didn’t want to pay tribute to herself – but instead highlighted two teammates.
– It was one of today’s lucky moments, admits the skiing star in a statement.

The season is now over for our Swedish cross-country skiers and it has been the very best for fantastic Ebba Andersson. The Swede set a personal record for the most World Cup competitions won during the season, and the big highlight was of course the Ski World Cup 2023 in Planica.

Ebba’s big hit

After fighting back from covid-19, there was still some concern for the 25-year-old ahead. Andersson joined the national team squad late and instead chose to train a few extra days at home in Sollefteå.

It would turn out to be a stroke of genius because Ebba managed to nail the big form just right and was crowned WC queen by Planica after double WC gold and double WC bronze. After that, Andersson had a sad end to the season at the World Cup with a new illness, but when the Swedish skiing elite gathered at home for the SM in Kalix, the WC gold hero was once again back in top form.

Andersson’s words

Ebba Andersson was completely superior in the three mile and finished a full 1.5 minutes ahead of second place Jonna Sundling in a very impressive display. Thereby she secured her seventh SM gold in her career.
– A gold is a gold, so I’m very happy about that. The feeling was good, but I guess I missed that little last push. But I found a good “pace” and I felt I could handle that. I master three miles well and I am satisfied with today’s effort and today’s performance, Ebba said directly after the victory race in Expressen’s television broadcast.

But more than that, the Swedish national team star did not want to talk about himself, but instead focused more on his teammates Anna Dyvik and Lovisa Modig. Both made their last races as elite riders and received a nice farewell from their teammates at the finish line.
– It was one of the lucky moments of the day when I first passed Anna (Dyvik) in the track and then also Lovisa (Modig). Then I felt “yes”, because I could finish ahead of them and receive them when they cross the finish line for the last time in these contexts, says a happy Ebba Andersson in the victory interview.

When the Swedish WC gold hero is then asked if this has been her best winter ever, the answer is given.
– Yes, but without a doubt. It feels good to be able to sum it up. There have been many highs, some lows, but on the whole a great joy for me to be able to think back on this season, Ebba admits in the interview.
