Ebba Andersson’s absolutely wonderful words about Frida Karlsson’s big return – tell now: “Been very missed”

Frida Karlsson, Maja Dahlqvist and Linn Svahn are back in the national team.
Then Ebba Andersson rejoices.
– They were sorely missed last year, she tells TT.

Frida Karlsson and Maja Dahlqvist shocked the entire skiing world last year when they suddenly decided to leave the Swedish national skiing team for a venture of their own. After a year, however, they are back, and they also bring Linn Svahn with them, who also made the same decision before Karlsson and Dahlqvist.

Great joy

After the breakaway trio has now made it back to the national team, and the riders have received guarantees that the problems they experienced before will be improved, many are cheering. Not least Ebba Andersson, who had an absolutely fantastic season last year. She became a great WC queen, and this despite the fact that she had to be without Karlsson in training.

After the new announcement, Andersson can’t hide her joy – and she doesn’t hold back about what it means for the national team.

– I think they were sorely missed last year. Just having them out on the training sessions means that the quality is raised even further, Andersson tells TT.

“Much to contribute”

Ebba Andersson believes that the breakout trio will help all national team skaters to improve, and with the new arrangement, everything feels great.

– They have a lot to contribute to the group. I think the ambition should be that all of Sweden’s best skiers want to be on the national team. This year, it feels like we have landed in a somewhat more suitable arrangement for everyone, where we riders have had to be somewhat more involved than in previous years, she says and continues:

– In the end, it’s still the national team coaches who nail down a final camp plan – but this very thing to be involved and have an opinion a little bit early in the process, it makes the participation greater.

Ebba Andersson believes that the riders now have greater freedom and more say.

– It may not be that all eight wills get their way through to one hundred percent, but if you can still find somewhere that is mostly suitable for everyone, then it is very valuable to be able to be together. If you are together, you get the opportunity to use each other even more and hopefully reach even more development.
