For the first time ever they met at home in Sollefteå.
Then Ebba Andersson defeated national team colleague Frida Karlsson.
– Maybe it’s time to put the skis on the shelf, says Ebba to Expressen.
They had never before met at home in Sollefteå. On Friday, the national skiing team’s two biggest stars did Ebba Andersson and Frida Karlsson up in a historic duel.
Ebba’s revenge
Even though the world cup season is over and the ski championships have already been decided, the national team duo still continue to compete on the ski tracks. After the showdown of 6.6 kilometers in classic style during the Smart Energy Cup tour, in the end Ebba stood as the winner in the friend duel.
– It felt good out there. I could push as I wanted and had great skis. So it’s one of the best feelings lately, says Andersson to Expressen.
– I’ve had it a bit like that with the form. Until Christmas there wasn’t much to complain about, after that you had to look for small, small joys.

The victory is a very nice revenge for Ebba Andersson, who has had a tough spring after the covid disease at Christmas. She has really had to fight for the top positions for several months and even though the season is almost over, this means a lot to the Swede.
The words to Frida
Historically speaking, she is incredibly strong during April – and has actually never lost a Fis race during a month.
– Now you mustn’t jinx anything! Pepper, pepper… Maybe it’s time to put the skis on the shelf to preserve the suite, she tells the evening newspaper and laughs.

The weekend continues with new races and new duels between the national ski team’s poster names Ebba Andersson and Frida Karlsson. Then a sprint awaits on Saturday and the start of the chase over 15 km on Sunday.
– We’ll see tomorrow (Saturday) if Frida is a bit vindictive. It’s a distance (classic sprint) that suits her much better than it suits me, says Ebba in the interview.
