Ebba Andersson won the skiathlon after a show of strength

She waved to the crowd at the rally and glanced back to see Jessie Diggins take second place ahead of Heidi Weng. Andersson is the reigning world champion in the event.

Andersson was on the offensive during the opening classic part and at the change of skis she led and was three seconds ahead of Rosie Brennan, something she immediately extended in the freestyle part.

Jessie Diggins tried to take up the chase and gained a few seconds when she led the pack, but Andersson responded and extended her lead and didn’t have to worry about a sprint at the future WC arena 2025 Granåsen.

Karlsson came back after a weak classical part

Frida Karlsson broke a pole in the first uphill and had a nightmarish classic section. At the halfway point, she was 31st – 1.45 behind Andersson.

However, Karlsson did an excellent freestyle section and climbed to 14th place, only losing five seconds to Andersson after the ski change.
