Ebba Andersson now reveals the big dream this year – after the Swede’s longer absence: “I aim for it”

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

She has not competed since early December.
Now Ebba Andersson is approaching her comeback – and reveals her big dream with the season.
– So far the dream lives on, she tells SVT Sport.

It was a brilliantly successful start to the season Ebba Andersson who lined up podium places along with Frida Karlsson. But then the 25-year-old was affected by covid-19 and has not been able to compete since December.

Ebba’s comeback

But the comeback is very close for the Swede, who is in hard training right now to get back and find form again quickly. The big goal of the season is, of course, the ski WC in Slovenian Planica, which starts at the end of February.

The plan is for Andersson to make a comeback as early as this weekend when ski competitions are held on Swedish soil in Falun. After that, there will be two World Cup weekends in Les Rousses and Toblach before it is time for the World Ski Championships in 2023.
– I’ve had quite a few weeks now outside the competition track. Instead, I’ve had to spend the last few weeks here training. In time, I will have the opportunity to compete, and that is step number one. Then I’ll see after that how the body responds, how I feel I’m in phase and then we’ll put together a plan for the final preparations before the WC, says Ebba Andersson in an interview with SVT Sport.

The big dream

Despite the fact that the skiing season had a longer break due to the illness, the Swede’s goals remained high. The Swede has WC gold in the relay from 2019 in Seefeld but only two individual WC bronzes from the most recent in Oberstdorf 2021.

Now the big dream is of course to win an individual WC gold.
– Yes, but the WC is the biggest thing this season. I have two individual medals already, and now I aim higher than that. I aim very high. I feel that it still feels reasonable despite the covid disease. I have been able to take it easy and get back to training well, says Ebba in the interview.

She is also hopeful of finding her form again and being able to get in top form for this year’s big WC challenge.
– For now, the dream and ambition to be at the top is still alive and fighting, says Ebba Andersson confidently.
