Therese Johaug can make a comeback again.
The Norwegian ski queen opens for a return to cross-country skiing.
That causes the Swedish WC gold heroes Ebba Andersson and Jonna Sundling to react.
One of the world’s best skiers of all time can now make a comeback on the slopes again. It has been just over a year since the Norwegian ski queen Therese Johaug put the skis on the shelf and since then she has become the mother of a daughter.

But now the 35-year-old is seriously opening the door to a sensational comeback. After a whopping 14 World Cup golds and 4 Olympic golds, she still doesn’t seem quite finished with cross-country skiing yet, and the upcoming Skiing World Cup in Trondheim 2025 beckons.
– We’ll see. I haven’t decided whether there will be more ski races or not. Right now I’m enjoying my new life as a mother. But I train a little, I do, admits Johaug in an interview with NRK.

The Norwegian superstar’s surprising words about a possible comeback have reached our Swedish skiing stars. There both Ebba Andersson and Jonna Sundling welcomes the great challenge that it means to meet Johaug in the tracks again.

The Swedish answer
Nor are they directly shocked by the Norwegian’s performance.
– It wasn’t particularly surprising, Andersson says to SVT Sport.
– I know that I have taken steps and become stronger and better than the last time we met. But she might as well have gotten stronger and gotten the worst “baby boost”.

Both Ebba Andersson and Jonna Sundling made a big impression in the last ski WC where both won double WC gold. With that, they step into the next WC as reigning champions if Johaug dares to challenge them.
– She would love to come back. It would have been fun to compete with her again, says Sundling to the TV channel.
