Good music, food and drinks will be on tap as Eat & Drink Norfolk returns to the Simcoe fairgrounds next week.
The Norfolk County Fair & Horse Show’s annual food and drink festival will make its return from April 7 to 9. The event will feature 25 breweries, wineries and restaurant vendors.
“The event highlights everything local. It’s all about the Norfolk County breweries, the wineries, the restaurants, the food producers. It brings them all together in one location under one roof,” said Chantal Zorad, special events manager at the Norfolk County Fair.
The event will feature local music from the talents of Felicia McMinn, FiddleStix, With the Dudes, Claire Senko & Chris Rait, Brad Haliz, Craig Watkins, and Paul Mallard.
Mustard + Relish and Forkin’ Perogy are among the batch of new eateries joining the ensemble of vendors this year.
Forkin’ Perogy owner Dan Eynon said he’s thankful for the community’s support during the pandemic and the persistent work the company has received including being one of the featured vendors at Eat & Drink Norfolk.
While at one point during the pandemic he considered selling the traveling food truck business, Eynon now plans to open a new location in Port Dover on the weekend after Friday the 13th.
“The biggest challenge we faced was the fear of the unknown, nobody knowing what was going to happen,” said Eynon. “I knew what I wanted to do and I knew how to do it and I wasn’t going to let COVID get in the way of it.”
Eat & Drink Norfolk will be held at the Aud. Days and operating hours are April 7-8 from 5 pm to 10 pm and April 9 from 1.pm to 10 pm
Event is for those 19 years of age and older. Admission tickets cost $14 for April 7 and $16 for April 8 and April 9. Tokens for food and drinks are $1. Number of tokens required for items vary with prices being set by vendors.
