EasyJet strike when for which destination The news

EASYJET. The summer promises to be hot at EasyJet with several strike calls in Spain which should cause disruptions, delays and even cancellations.

[Mis à jour le 5 juillet 2022 à 13h29] Have you planned a trip this summer via a flight on the airline EasyJet? Beware of the Easyjet strikes planned this summer within the company! They will affect Spain where several strike calls have been issued in recent weeks. In July, it is the hostesses and stewards who are called to strike, that is to say 450 Easyjet staff members in Spain. Already, during the first weekend of July, delays and disruptions were observed on departure and landing at Spanish airports which are always very busy during the summer. What are the next strike days at Easyjet? The call was launched for July 15, 16 and 17 but also for July 29, 30 and 31.

A doubt about the deadline for check-in or baggage drop-off? Do you want to follow your flight live due to disruptions such as strikes or bad weather? This is possible through the “Flight Tracker” which allows you to consult all the information concerning your Easyjet flight. To do this, simply provide your flight number. You can also find a flight by indicating its origin and destination. The company updates the news on the state of the traffic, particularly in the event of new formalities of control, social movements or unexpected events at the airport.

You can check in directly at the airport, but Easyjet recommends doing this online. An option that has several advantages. First of all, it allows you to print boarding passes for all your flights up to 30 days before departure: no need to find a printer during your vacation to obtain your boarding pass for the return trip. , you are calm. In addition, at the airport, the wait will be shorter: if you only have cabin baggage, go directly to the security checks. If you have baggage to put in the hold, find a baggage drop-off counter. Arrive well enough in advance, the baggage drop-off and boarding gates closing at least 30 to 40 minutes before departure.

As of November 2021, the low-cost airline is offering a new carry-on option for its customers. By paying a minimum supplement of £5.99, it is thus possible to board with a large bag in the cabin in addition to your usual small hand luggage. The option can be added when booking your flight via the mobile application, and on the easyJet.com website, regardless of the seat price. Previously, this paid option was reserved for easyJet Plus cardholders and FLEXI fare customers. By choosing this option, you also access fast boarding.

EasyJet has announced that it is changing its baggage policy, with the type of seat reserved now determining the type of cabin baggage allowed. The suitcase will therefore become chargeable for certain fares and impossible for the lowest ones, only the bag that can slip under the seat will remain free for all passengers.

For all bookings made for travel from February 10, 2021, “the new policy means that all customers can take on board a small under-seat bag (max 45x36x20cm) free of charge which must fit under the seat in front. This will allow them to bring everything necessary for their trip or enough for a short trip”, can we read in the press release of the low cost. To travel with a cabin suitcase in addition to a small bag, the traveler can choose the paying option (from 10.49 euros) allowing them to reserve a seat in the front or an “Extra legroom” seat (space for legs) and take your bag in the cabin (max 56x45x25cm) or put your luggage in the hold. easyJet Plus cardholders and FLEXI fare customers will also continue to have one extra large cabin bag included in their booking, subject to sufficient space on board.

If your flight is delayed for more than 5 hours, you can cancel your flight and receive a full refund. Also note that if your trip is delayed overnight, Easyjet covers accommodation, transfer and meals. If your flight is cancelled, you can choose to be transferred to the next flight, or opt for a full refund. In addition, if your flight arrives more than three hours after the scheduled time, or if it is canceled within 14 days of departure, you can claim compensation. This amounts to 250 euros for a journey of up to 1,500 km, 400 euros for a journey of 1,500 to 3,500 km, and 600 euros for flights over 3,500 km (for overseas departments, the amount is capped at 400 euros). However, if the delay or cancellation is considered an “exceptional circumstance” (bad weather, air traffic control strike, etc.), you will not be able to claim compensation.

This system only works with connections of at least 2h30.

Members can change their flights and names on tickets free of charge. On the price side, Easyjet offers them the “price guaranteeM” allowing the passenger who finds a cheaper ticket elsewhere, on an equivalent flight, to be reimbursed for the price difference. In addition, if the customer realizes that the price has dropped on the Easyjet site between the time of his reservation and his departure, the company offers a voucher equivalent to the price difference. By invitation of the company, if you have booked and flown 20 or more flights in the last 12 months, or if under have booked and flown 10 or more flights and spent £1,500 (approximately €1,754) over the last 12 months, or if you have booked and flown 10 or more flights on average over the past 10 years, with at least one flight each year. This site offers offers whose price includes flights (with Easyjet, of course) and accommodation. Beach breaks (Agadir, Majorca, Algarve, Nice, Ibiza…), city breaks (Venice, Lisbon, Rome, London, Prague…), but also promotions and last minute offers, the choice of destinations is vast with the advantage of offering visibility at a glance of flight schedules and the total bill for the trip.

Free, the Easyjet application is available on iPhone and Android. It allows you to book flights, choose your seat, add options (additional luggage, for example), manage your reservation (in particular to modify or cancel a trip), or even track your flight in real time. Another advantage: you can check in and download your boarding pass, rather than printing it. Good news if you travel regularly with EasyJet, the British low cost has launched a new feature on its mobile application which should be useful to many travelers. This feature uses augmented reality to scan cabin baggage and ensure it meets the maximum dimensions allowed by the low-cost airline. The main one is simple: the scanner visualizes a box in 3D on the screen of your smartphone. Combined with the phone’s camera, it measures the size of your cabin suitcase (height, width and depth of luggage) directly from your home. Using Apple’s ARKit 2 technology, this new feature of the EasyJet mobile application is initially available on iOS (from iPhone 6S). Please note, the following airports do not yet use mobile boarding passes: Izmir, Agadir, Antalya, Belgrade, Bastia (Corsica), Bodrum, Casablanca, Dalaman, Moscow Domodedovo, Essaouira, Figari (Corsica), Hurgada, Gran Canaria (Las Palmas), La Rochelle, Menorca (Mahon), Monastir, Ponta Delgada, Preveza, Pristina, Marrakech, Sharm El Sheikh, and Tel Aviv.
