(Finance) – Le Easter holidays have arrived and like every year many will be setting off on the journey. According to the forecasts ofAnas (Company of the Infrastructure Hub of the Fs Italiane Group) are around four million Italians leaving for holidays, with an estimated 32 million transits. To ensure better practicability and prevent traffic disruption, Anas has decided to remove 404 construction sites (63% of the total). An optimization program is planned for the remaining 242 immovable construction sites on the busiest days with alternative routes for the most critical sections.
During the holidays, surveillance will also be increased and the constant presence of staff will be guaranteed. Anas’ road presence is 2050 resources on rotation, technical and operational staff, plus 230 units of the Territorial Operations Rooms and the National Situation Room. To facilitate travel, the circulation of heavy vehicles will be suspended on the days of Friday 29 March from 2.00pm to 10.00pm, Saturday 30 March from 9.00am to 4.00pm, Sunday 31 March and Monday 1 April from 9.00am to 10.00pm. In view of the counter-exodus, on Tuesday 2 April, the blockade will be in force from 9.00 to 14.00.
AND traffic growth of approximately 5% is expected today, Friday 29 March, compared to the weekly average. As in previous years, Tuscany, Puglia, Campania and Sicily are confirmed as the destinations preferred by tourists.
Starting tomorrow, Saturday 30 March, however, traffic will suffer a reduction of -4% to -8% compared to that of a normal day before a holiday. A drop of -7% to -9% is expected for Easter Sunday. The reduction in the flow of vehicles on long distances is also expected for Easter Monday, Monday 1 April, with variations of approximately -4% compared to a weekday Monday. On Easter Monday, however, short-distance trips for out-of-town trips to tourist destinations are growing. From Tuesday 2 April returns to the large cities begin, here too with high traffic volumes.
