If you have contracted Covid-19 or if you are in contact, Health Insurance can provide you with a certificate of isolation. This must then be forwarded to the employer. Find out how to get it.
[Mis à jour le 16 juillet 2022 à 19h50] The isolation certificate in the event of Covid-19 is necessary for people with coronavirus or those who are in contact. Issued by health insurance, it allows you to justify your absence to your employer, if you are unable to carry out your work on site. This certificate is important, since it allows you to obtain compensation to compensate for a work stoppage. This isolation certificate can be obtained on the Ameli website or through your doctor. It can also be used as proof when a professional task cannot be carried out remotely.
The procedure to follow is very simple. Just go to the site declare.ameli.fr and follow the various steps. The Health Insurance will then carry out the usual checks before sending a confirmation email, which can be sent to the employer. He will act as proof until receipt of the certificate, available on his Ameli account.
How long to wait to obtain the isolation certificate?
The isolation certificate is available on your Ameli account after 7 days (or 12 days if you do not have an Ameli account), which must then be sent to your company or training organization.
Can I obtain a Covid isolation certificate differently?
For people who are not comfortable with digital tools, don’t panic. As since the beginning of the health crisis, even if most of the steps to be taken are on the internet, another more traditional option is possible. Indeed, the attending physician is also authorized to complete the document. It is therefore not necessary to have a computer, a tablet or a smartphone to apply for a certificate.
Isolation certificate: imperative for the employer
For people in professional activity, who find themselves unable to telecommute, it is therefore possible to request a work stoppage, without a waiting period. This allows the sick person or contact case to isolate themselves until the result of their Covid test is obtained. A work stoppage is established from the day of the declaration, before the performance of the diagnostic confirmation test.
Contact cases, regardless of their vaccination status, are no longer forced into a period of isolation. A certificate of isolation is therefore only provided to people who have contracted the virus. Persons in contact with their Covid-positive child, aged under 16, unable to telework, can request a stop at the Ameli site for the duration of their child’s isolation.
