An earthquake shook western Skaraborg on Sunday afternoon, reports P4 Skaraborg.
The earthquake occurred at 15:57 and had a preliminary magnitude of 2.5 on the Richter scale, according to the Swedish National Seismic Network.
– We have between seven and ten earthquakes a year in Sweden. They are usually felt a few miles away, so I can imagine that there was some shaking in Lidköping, says Björn Lund, seismologist at Uppsala University, to SR.
According to Skaraborgs Allehanda, a loud bang and a rumble were probably heard in almost the entire municipality of Lidköping in connection with the earthquake.
According to the Swedish National Seismic Network, which analyzes earthquakes, the quake occurred seven kilometers southwest of Lidköping and caused tremors in, among other places, Lidköping, Vinninga, Götene and Skara.
