If you’re worried about being tempted by souvenirs at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, think again. One fashion house offers unique items that rival all others.

This is a commercial operation that is, to say the least, unexpected. A famous luxury brand has decided to take advantage of the tourist boom expected in Paris this summer of 2024 to sell some souvenir trinkets from the capital at crazy prices. Caps, tote bags, key rings, sweatshirts, postcards, padlocks, snow globes… everything is included!Putting luxury in the box of the impeccable, the exclusive and the ostentatious is both reductive and from another time”, said Demna, artistic director of the brand since 2015. He says he draws inspiration from the codes of mass market to imagine new creations. This is in any case the approach adopted by the Georgian stylist in this “souvenir” collection, available on the brand’s website as well as in a flagship store installed until September 23, 2024rue Saint-Honoré, in Paris.

Crazy! So, which fashion house is behind this bold project? It is the French label Balenciaga, known for its operations of this kind. Indeed, the fashion house had notably marketed handbags in shiny calfskin for 1,550 euros when the latter only represented a simple packet of crisps.

Same thing with the sale of “Arbre Magique” key rings that the brand decided to sell for 195 euros, when it had only put its name on the iconic sweet-smelling tree. Daring!
