The Government of Spain is gradually carrying out the digital transformation that Pedro Sánchez presented months ago, and for this it has created a new tool to promote the digitization of small businesses, micro-SMEs and the self-employed.

The president has opted for five major elements in this process, among which the commitment to the data economy stands out. According to the European Commission, in 2019 the national data economy had a value of 29,700 million euros, that is, 2.5% of the Spanish Gross Domestic Product (GDP). “It is estimated that by 2025 this value could increase to 54.4 billion euros and represent 4.1% of GDP,” Sánchez pointed out.

And this is how the digital kit emerged, offering technological solutions for companies in any sector or type of business. Depending on the number of employees they can receive a minimum of 2 thousand euros or up to 12 thousand.

Companies must meet a series of requirements, such as being up to date with payments of tax obligations, with Social Security, or not being guilty of any of the prohibitions provided for in the General Subsidies Law.

How to request the digital bonus

To request the digital bonus, companies must register on the web www.acelerapyme.es and complete a test, consult the catalog of digital solutions and request help from the Digital Kit at the Red.es electronic office.

The first call has already been opened, on March 15, for freelancers who have between 10 and 49 employees, and ends on September 15.
