Dyson introduces the first-ever headphones that double as an air purifier, and vice versa. In addition to eradicating unwanted noise, it is supposed to protect you from gases, allergens, viruses and other fine particles dangerous to health. However, it should not be released before 2023.
You dreamed of it, Dyson did it! The Dyson Zone captures all manner of urban pollution, simultaneously delivering immersive sound to the ears and purified airflow to the nose and mouth.
Compressors located in each earcup draw air through the dual-layer filters and direct two streams of purified air to the user’s nose and mouth. Each head being unique, Dyson had to develop an adjustable device for maximum comfort. According to Dyson, this product is the result of ten years of research and development. It also required the use of more than 500 prototypes.
The result is rather convincing, although quite cumbersome and frankly not discreet. Its users may breathe healthy air, but look like Bane’s distant cousins in “Mad Max: Fury Road.”
However, this helmet should not be marketed before 2023. Its technical characteristics will be detailed later.
As a reminder, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that 9 out of 10 people in the world breathe polluted air.
