Dutch hostage drama over – one man arrested

It was at a nightclub that a man in his 30s took four people hostage early Saturday morning. Around 150 households around the site were evacuated during the incident.

The hostage situation began shortly after 5 a.m., according to an organization that rented the venue on Friday, just over an hour after the club had closed. reports De Telegraaf.

The man surrendered in the early afternoon after releasing the hostages, first three people and later also the last one. All must be employed at the nightclub.

– We are extremely happy that it could end like this, that the victims were able to get out safely and that we were able to arrest the suspect without using violence, says Marthyne Kunst at the local prosecutor’s office.
