Europeans: on the left, two lists… common?
The new leader of the ecologists, Marine Tondelier, had decided on the spot: no common Nupes list for the Europeans, the ecologists would go alone. And that the Insoumis stop playing “the forcers”, she said herself. The congress that had installed her at the head of the green party had decided. Yes, but that was before the retreat sequence. None of the recent polls support them. Jean-Luc Melenchon with his Insoumis, even weakened, remain masters on the left.
As a result, the ecologists are no longer so sure of themselves. “My religion is not made … I will comply with the decision of my party”, modestly explains an EELV executive, who adds: “No one can afford the luxury of getting angry with others.” Another option is on the table: two common lists, one EELV-PS and the other LFI-PCF. The Socialists – including the anti-Nupes, including Nicolas Mayer Rossignol – see no inconvenience, and even say they are ready to leave the head of the list to the green house. “With such a presidential election, let’s remain modest,” proclaims the entourage of the mayor of Rouen. What put him in agreement (for once) with Olivier Faure. “Those who believe that we can redo 5% alone, like grown-ups, put their finger in the eye,” say those close to the boss of the PS.
Dupond-Moretti, the president and police custody
The scene takes place in the middle of the Council of Ministers. After the controversies born of the demonstrations, the Keeper of the Seals Eric Dupond-Moretti recalls the difference between police custody and referral. “If a person is killed in the next room, there is only one culprit, but everyone here around the table will be taken into custody,” said the Minister of Justice. Before turning to Emmanuel Macron: “Except you, Mr. President!” (the Head of State benefits from judicial immunity).
Dussopt, communications director for Darmanin
It’s no longer a secret, they may come from two opposing political camps (the PS for Dussopt, Les Républicains for Darmanin), the Minister of Labor and the tenant of Place Beauvau get along well and have understood the profit that they can draw from this beautiful friendship. In the fall, they announced together the outlines of the immigration bill – finally cut, shifted, manhandled by the president – a way of showing their critics on all sides that the text would be neither too left nor too to the right.
And right and left. Is it still this faith in the “at the same time” that now pushes Olivier Dussopt to affirm behind the scenes: “It is Gérald Darmanin who has the most authority [pour devenir Premier ministre]”? The Minister of Labor goes so far as to swear that his colleague from the Interior would have “more capacity” than him “to seek votes within the left”. “When you leave your camp, you are a traitor in the eyes of your former friends but you become attractive to others”, wants to believe, in essence, Dussopt. If we follow this reasoning, Darmanin at Matignon will still not allow Emmanuel Macron to work with the LRs.
Edward the piqueur
“The majority united around Edouard Philippe”, we were proud of on the side of Horizons after the Havrais gathered on the same stage, at the floral park, his party, his elected officials, the boss of the Modem François Bayrou, the Renaissance chef Stéphane Séjourné and Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne, on Saturday March 25. Fewer school holidays, absent teachers systematically replaced… So many ideas considered excellent by the leader of the presidential party since “Edouard took up subjects that we had discussed at the majority meeting”. No acrimony, quite the contrary! “It’s not bad, it shows that we are all aligned”, smiles Séjourné in private. From there to say that Edouard Philippe is incapable of thinking for himself…
The RN loves basins
