Duplantis wins Diamond League Finals

Armand Duplantis continues to rack up victories.
For the fourth year in a row, the pole vault star won the Diamond League final.
– The body feels like crap actually. It’s been quite a busy week so I’m quite happy that the season is over, says Duplantis.

Armand Duplantis made only three jumps in the competition in Brussels. He stepped in at 5.62, then cleared 5.92 – where he secured the win – and finally the stadium record 6.11.

Three world records this year were enough. The most recent came on August 25 in Katowice with 5.26 – the fiercest in the Olympic final in Paris on August 5.

– My body doesn’t feel so good right now and I didn’t have much hope left in my body. So it was nice to win after two jumps, says Duplantis and continues:

– I’m a happy guy, it’s been an incredible season.

Duplantis was able to collect just over 300,000 kroner for the victory in the final competition.

Emmanouil Karalis, Greece, finished second at 5.82 and home jumper Ben Broeders, Belgium, third at the same height.

Daniel Ståhl fourth

Swedish discus star Daniel Ståhl finished fourth in 66.26 – just over five meters from his Swedish record.

Australian Matthew Denny won the event in 69.96. Mykolas Alekna finished second with his throw of 68.86.
