Two snakes – one of which was a live python – were found in a recycling station in Stenungsund on Sunday, reports the ST newspaper.
Police were alerted after a passer-by encountered a snake at the recycling station. On the spot, the police were able to establish that it was two snakes: one that was dead – and a live python.
– The police came there and took care of the snakes. We contacted the county administration and hope that the live snake will find a new home. A report of animal cruelty has been drawn up, says the police officer on duty, Johan Josarp, to the ST newspaper.
At the scene, police found boxes that may have been used to store more snakes. However, the police do not suspect that more snakes are in the area.
