The competition was won by Danish Carina Cassøe Krüth, ahead of seasoned German dressage star Isabell Werth.
“It was actually a wonderful feeling,” says Johanna Due Boje when she is interviewed shortly after her performance, before she knew how far it would go.
Mazy Klovenhoj was really tagged both on Saturday and in Friday’s first part of the competition, when no points were awarded. But when it came down to it, rider and horse were able to interact better than on Friday.
— This energy she has, I could use a little with me instead of just trying to dampen it, says Due Boje about the duo’s performance in the choir.
Shortly after Johanna Due Boje in the results list came two other Swedes, Jeanna Högberg and Jennie Larsson.
Patrik Kittel is the best Swede in the World Cup standings, but did not compete in Gothenburg. Neither did the other riders in last year’s Swedish WC team.
One competition, in the Netherlands, remains in the dressage cup league for Western Europe. The World Cup final is ridden, just like the jumping final, in the American Omaha at the beginning of April.
