The Irish government promised on Friday to solve the drone problem plaguing Dublin Airport.

The country’s busiest airport had to suspend all flights for a good half hour on Thursday evening when a drone got lost near the airport.

It was the sixth time this year that Dublin Airport had to suspend operations due to a drone.

Unlike other major European airports, Dublin does not use anti-drone technology to prevent unauthorized flying.

– We will put an end to this, assured the Irish economy minister Michael McGrath in an interview with the country’s public broadcaster RTE.

Political pressure is increasing

The Irish government has been criticized for inaction on the airport drone issue.

CEO of Ryanair airline Michael O’Leary demanded the country’s transport minister on Twitter on Friday Eamon Ryan either to solve the problem or resign from their position.

The introduction of anti-drone technology in Ireland will require legal consideration and possibly changes to existing aviation laws.
