Nebraska resident Duane Hansen, 60, has spent years growing giant pumpkins. Then why not try to get into the Guinness Book of Records for how far you can paddle in a pumpkin? The 384-pound pumpkin, which he calls “BerTa,” got to act as a kayak as Duane paddled six miles on the Missouri River. It wasn’t easy to keep the balance, he says. – I only got stuck a few times but it was close to the eye on certain occasions, says the pumpkin fan and continues: – If someone beats this record, I bow, because then they are tough.
