It was at midnight, the night before Monday, that the police were alerted to the outskirts of Bankeryd outside Jönköping after a tractor wobbled around and knocked down both trees and several mailboxes. The driver was driving on the old Mullsjövägen and dropped branches that had previously stuck to the vehicle. In the roundabout in Månseryd, the tractor instead got stuck and came to a standstill, and there the police were also able to find the driver.
– They had to take him to the station so that he could sleep off his intoxication, says Johnny Gustavsson, who is a press spokesperson at the police.
The driver, a man in his 20s, was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, gross illegal driving, illegal use and vandalism.
