Drugs, cash seized in Arkona traffic stop: OPP

Drugs and cash were seized and four suspects arrested during a traffic stop this month in Arkona, provincial police say

Lambton OPP and Anishinabek Police Service officers stopped a vehicle and arrested four suspects without incident on Townsend Line about 11 p.m. July 4, police said.

Suspected fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, “trafficking materials,” and an estimated $17,000 in cash were seized, police said.

A Kettle and Stony Point First Nation resident, 36, is charged with two counts of possessing drugs for trafficking, and one count of failing to comply with a release order, police said.

A Petrolia resident, 52, Forest resident, 59, and Kettle and Stony Point resident, 34, are charged with possessing drugs for trafficking, police said.

All four are to appear in a Sarnia court Aug. 7, police said.

Impaired charge laid after crash

A Parkhill resident was charged with impaired driving after a on-vehicle crash in Lambton Shores, provincial police say.

A vehicle rolled on Sitter Road around 8:20 p.m. July 12, Lambton OPP said in a release. The driver was arrested and taken to hospital in Strathroy with what police described as minor injuries.

The Parkhill resident, 30, is charged with impaired driving and careless driving, police said. The accused is to appear Aug. 13 in Sarnia court.
