Drug production could increase sharply in Ukraine as a result of the Russian invasion, the UN warns in a new report.
Previous experience from conflict areas suggests that these often act as a kind of “magnet” for the production of synthetic drugs, writes the UN agency UNDOC in its annual report.
“The effect can be even greater when the conflict zone is close to large consumer markets,” the report states.
