Several people are sentenced to prison after the police uncovered a group of drug smugglers based in Malmö, writes Sydsvenskan. Among those convicted is a mother of small children who receives a reduced sentence as she singled out the two principals responsible.

The previously unpunished woman appeared on the police radar last May, when she and her boyfriend were seen with known criminals.

The couple had been tasked with delivering drugs to pay off cocaine debts incurred by the man. One of the trips was by car to Rotterdam in the Netherlands, where four kilos of cocaine – worth at least SEK 3.5 million – were picked up. The way home was via German Bremen and by train from Kastrup.

What they had no idea was that the police detectives were hot on their heels – and when the drugs were to be left in a residential area in Malmö, the couple were arrested.

Now the two principals are sentenced to six and a half years in prison. Another man gets six years. The boyfriend is sentenced to five and a half years, while the woman has her sentence reduced by 40 percent to three and a half years.
