    The man who drove into a pro-Palestinian demonstration train in central Borås has been arrested, reports P4 Sjuhärad.

    The man is suspected of, among other things, attempted serious assault. He has also been served with suspicion of hate crime motives.

    The man denies any wrongdoing.

    Norwegian Crown Princess Mette-Marit’s son Marius Borg Høiby’s interrogation has been postponed, reports Norwegian VG. The reason is that the defense attorney cannot be present.

    The police do not want to give any more information, but say they may tell you more tomorrow.

    It has stormed around Marius Borg Høiby in recent weeks for abusing his girlfriend. He has also been accused of two criminal cases linked to ex-girlfriends and according to the women’s lawyers, it is about violence in close relationships.

    Borg Høiby has also been singled out as a security risk as he is deemed to have had connections to the gang environment, according to Norwegian media. According to the Norwegian Dagbladet, Høiby is said to be close friends with a 38-year-old man who appeared in investigations with connections to the Foxtrot network.

  • The plantation applies for reconstruction

    Plantasjen, which includes the garden chain Plantagen, is applying for reconstruction for the store network. The Norwegian and Finnish sister companies are also applying for reconstruction.

    “The measures presented today are necessary to transform Plantasjen into a financially viable business going forward,” owner Ratos writes in a press release.

    SEB lowers the variable interest rate (three months) by 0.10 percentage points. Other interest rates are reduced by between 0.05 and 0.10 percentage points.

    A truck and a bus have collided on the E18 at the Stocksund Bridge in Stockholm. There must be passengers on board the bus.

    Traffic is heavily affected by the accident and there will be long queues.

    – Two people have been taken to hospital but their injuries are unclear, says Roger Sverndal, management operator at the rescue service.

    The bus will be recovered.

    An energetic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz has made an entrance at the Democratic convention. He is met with a standing ovation and calls it “the greatest honor of his life” to accept the party’s nomination as vice-presidential candidate.

    – Thank you all for bringing back the joy, says Walz, who is now Minnesota’s governor, to his party colleagues.

    So he begins to tell his story, about growing up in rural Nebraska, the 24 years in the military, how he fell in love with teaching and trained as a teacher.

    The crowd cheers as he tells how he ran for office in a Republican district.

    Also present was Tim Walz’s son Gus, who sat in the audience with his sister Hope and mother Gwen.

    When Tim Walz vividly told about his and his wife’s IVF struggle to become parents, the son began to cry uncontrollably. At one point, he clapped his hands and shouted: “That’s my dad”, cheered by nearby spectators.

    Romanian police conducted a raid on Wednesday against influencer Andrew Tate, who is accused of, among other things, rape and of organizing a criminal group for the sexual exploitation of women.

    Police say in a statement that the raid, which took place at Tate’s home near Bucharest, is part of the investigation into several crimes, including sex with a minor, a new charge in the context.

    A spokesperson for Tate says the search concerns suspicions of, among other things, human trafficking and money laundering, but does not comment on the allegation of a crime against a minor.

    As he was taken from his home on Wednesday, Tate told the media that he believes the legal process against him is moving too slowly.

    Tate and his brother Tristan were arrested in Romania in December 2022 and placed under house arrest. After an appeal in August 2023, he has been able to move freely within the country’s borders.

  • At least 17 dead in Israeli attacks in Gaza

    At least 17 people have been killed in Israeli drone and tank attacks in Gaza on Wednesday.

    In Khan Yunis in southern Gaza, Nasser Hospital received nine bodies, among them a woman and a child. Al-Aqsa Hospital in Deir al-Balah received eight bodies. This is according to hospital staff and reporters from the AP news agency, who counted the bodies.

    The attacks in Deir al-Balah were carried out after the Israeli military called on Palestinians in some parts of the city to evacuate. The UN humanitarian office warns that Israel’s mass evacuation orders are forcing Palestinians into insecure and overpopulated areas.

  • Man arrested for attempted murder of woman

    A man in his 50s was arrested on Wednesday evening on suspicion of attempted murder of a woman in her 60s.

    The alarm came in at 10:30 p.m. and the man was arrested at a location in eastern Helsingborg, Helsingborgs Dagblad reports.

    The man, who according to the police has a relationship with the woman, is suspected of having caused her injuries with a sharp knife and she was taken to hospital with unclear injuries.

    The location has been cordoned off and the incident is being investigated as attempted murder.

    On Wednesday, Donald Trump gave his first outdoor speech since he was the victim of an assassination attempt in mid-July.

    The former president spoke to voters in North Carolina surrounded by screens of bulletproof glass.

    After the attack in Butler on July 12, the Secret Service issued a temporary recommendation that Trump speak only at indoor meetings.

    But last week, the Secret Service announced it will use bulletproof glass to protect Trump at outdoor appearances.

  • Iran: Bad weather behind fatal crash

    The May helicopter crash that killed Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi was caused by bad weather and too heavy a load.

    This is stated by the regime-loyal news agency Fars with reference to a well-informed security source.

    The helicopter, in which the 63-year-old Raisi and his party were traveling, crashed in a remote mountainous area. In addition to President Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, a local governor and a number of high-ranking government officials also perished.

    According to Far’s source, the investigation carried out by the security service shows that what happened “was definitely an accident”.

    Iran’s military said back in May that they had found no evidence that any crime had been committed in connection with the crash.

    US President Joe Biden called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday to discuss, among other things, a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

    Vice President, as well as presidential candidate, Kamala Harris also participated in the conversation.

    According to a statement from the White House, in addition to the ceasefire, the conversation also touched on the issue of releasing the hostages and diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions in the region.

  • Severe assault in Liljeholmen

    The police have been called to Liljeholmen, in southern Stockholm, after a fight outside, the police write on their website.

    A person has been taken to hospital by ambulance after being hit with some kind of stick. The extent of the damage is unclear.

    Two people have been arrested and a preliminary investigation into serious assault has been launched.
