Driver shortage forces Brantford Transit schedule changes

Driver shortage forces Brantford Transit schedule changes

Brantford Transit says a driver shortage is forcing it to modify its schedule.

Brantford Transit said in a statement Friday that all current bus routes will remain in place and unchanged.

But, on June 27, the half-hour bus schedule will move to an hourly schedule from 9 am to 9 pm

“The change is a necessary result of Brantford Transit’s ongoing staffing shortages and absences due to the COVID-19 pandemic.”

Brantford Transit said the current schedule during peak morning hours between 6 o’clock and 9 o’cock will remain the same, meaning 30-minute service will continue.

Routes serving the northwest industrial area and Brantford Lift also remain unchanged.

Sunday service also will continue to operate hourly.

Brantford Transit said it expects full service to resume in early September.

Brantford Transit said it is actively recruiting additional drivers.
