A 22-year-old Norfolk County man faces numerous charges including fleeing from police.
The incident occurred Thursday (Jan. 19) at about 11:13 pm when a Norfolk OPP officer stopped a vehicle at Fourteenth Street West address in Simcoe.
While the officer was investigating, the driver fled from the area only to be later located at a Townsend address. He was taken into custody without incident.
Police have charged the man with flight from a peace officer, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime, using a license plate not authorized for the vehicle, driving without a license, driving with an open container of liquor, novice driver with a blood alcohol concentration above zero; driving without an ignition interlock device and driving without insurance.
