Driver charged following fatal collision with motorcycle

Norfolk OPP have charged a 19-year-old Hamilton driver with dangerous operation causing death as an investigation continues into a fatal collision in Waterford.

Police, fire, and paramedics responded just before 7 am on Friday, September 13 to a collision on Thompson Road East involving an SUV and motorcycle.

The motorcyclist, a 23-year-old from Oxford, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The accused was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries and was arrested on Sunday.

Thompson Road East between Duncombe Road and Cockshutt Road was closed for several hours.

The West Region OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team is assisting in the investigation and urges anyone who was traveling in the vicinity around the time of the collision to call Norfolk OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
