Swedish golf’s big shooting star Ludvig Åberg, 23, is playing his first career Ryder Cup. He does that in a team with the Norwegian Viktor Hovland26. The Scandinavian duo got off to a dream start to the tournament when they won their duel with the USA’s Max Home and Brian Harman.

Åberg is praised

After a shaky start, Åberg grew into the match, above all in the form of his short game.
– We managed to score, that’s what it’s all about. It’s very fun!, he says to the Ryder Cup’s own channels.

Already at hole 14 it was clear that the duo had claimed victory.
– He is a stallion. Don’t be fooled by his inexperience, he can measure up to anyone in the world, says Hovland about Åberg.

Europe is currently leading against the USA with 2-0 after even John Rahm and Tyrrell Hat won his match. The Ryder Cup is played this year in Rome, Italy.
