– That is world class, says Jacob Hård in SVT’s broadcast.

After a long pre-season, the ski season is finally back, and the Swedish premiere kicks off in Gällivare this weekend. The first competition was held on Friday, and it was the sprint that was on the schedule.

Season started

Last year’s season was a very good one for the Swedish riders. Sweden had its best championship ever during the WC in Planica, when it took twelve medals in total. And Jonna Sundling can you really say lived up to expectations. The 28-year-old came first in both the prologue and the qualifier. The sprint world champion showed top form from the start, which is hopefully an indication of how her upcoming season will be.

Sundling’s victory

Because it was also Sundling who in the final was able to take home the entire competition when she crossed the finish line a few hundredths ahead of the runner-up Emma Ribom. This after Sundling also came first in both the quarter- and semi-finals.
– That is world class, says the commentator Jacob Hard in SVT’s broadcast.

Third was Maya Dahlqvist.

Lynn Svahn stood over the sprint when earlier in the week she got a feeling in her thigh, but is expected to line up in the weekend’s competitions.
