DrDisrespect Says Bethesda Declined Working With Him – Now Know Why

YouTuber and former Twitch streamer DrDisrespect says he’s twice offered Bethesda a collaboration on SF RPG Starfield. But they flatly refused. Now it is clear to him why. He apparently classifies Pete Hines, the head of Bethesda, as politically “woke”.

Who is DrDisrespect?

  • Guy Beahm has been one of the most successful Twitch streamers for many years. The former Call of Duty developer is a gifted entertainer who plays an fictional character, mourning his own past youth of winning back-to-back video game championships.
  • After a ban on Twitch that has not yet been clarified, he streams on YouTube without a contract and is one of the largest live streamers there. He also works on his own game and sells a brand of bourbon.
  • Again and again the gaming influencer offends. Above all, he seems to have eaten his former employer Activision Blizzard and their shooter series Call of Duty.
  • DrDisrespect was a celebrity on Twitch – His ban remains a big secret to this day

“Due to previous controversy, there is no way we are collaborating with DrDisrespect”

Here’s what he says about Starfield now: DrDisrespect said in a Sept. 1 stream (via youtube) that he and his team had approached Bethesda twice about working with Starfield:

  • First of all, if you couldn’t do something about Starfield together – anything?
  • A second time, whether he shouldn’t at least be allowed to play the game with a few others
  • Both times, the request was denied by Bethesda. He wasn’t even given early access to the game. The response came: “Due to past controversies, there is no way we are working with DrDisrespect.”

But the influencer apparently didn’t understand why the collaboration didn’t materialize.

What was the reason from the point of view of DrDisrespect? DrDisrespect looked at the Twitter profile of the studio’s head, Pete Hines, on the stream and read the pronouns Hines likes to be addressed with: he/him.

It was clear to DrDisrespect why Bethesda didn’t want to work with him:

“He him. Understood. Okay, now everything is starting to make sense. Everything makes sense now. Got it.”

what does he mean with that? DrDisrespect apparently believes whoever posts their pronouns on Twitter belongs to a group of people who value “political correctness.”

DrDisrespect seems to think that to these people who are “politically woke,” he’s a person they don’t want to work with. He seems to position himself politically in a different spectrum.

DrDisrespect attracted attention, especially in his early days, with some parodies and statements that even he now goes too far: Even DrDisrespect is becoming more politically correct on Twitch – no more “Chinese”.
