DrDisrespect gets banned from CoD Warzone 2 for 9 seconds – Ahead of $100,000 tournament

Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

Streamer DrDisrespect says he was banned from CoD Warzone 2 for 7 days by Activision Blizzard ahead of a $100,000 tournament. He can understand the reason for the ban to some extent, but the YouTube streamer still complains how they can afford to ban him before a big tournament.

What was DrDisrespect banned for?

  • DrDisrespect says he has been banned from Call of Duty: Warzone 2 for 7 days for his behavior in proximity chat.
  • It was, according to him, a “mutual exchange of insults”.
  • He was banned for “chat spamming”.
  • DrDisrespect was a celebrity on Twitch – His ban remains a big secret to this day

Trash talk and the word “pussy” lead to the ban

This was the exact scene: From his remarks, it is clear that he is banned from Highrise for “mutual trash talk”. A scene fits this description, there is pretty much consensus in the community.

In a stream on Friday 12/18, DrDisrespect climbs the roof of a skyscraper via a rope, is shot at and throws himself back over the parapet. He opens a parachute and escapes safely.

Using the proximity chat, his opponent asks, “Why are you leaving?”

DrDisresepct puts on new armor and says, “Just come down here. Do you want to play hide-and-seek all your life, pussy?”

The opponent then actually jumps down with a parachute, DrDisrespect shouts: “Yes, come down, come down”, shoots him down in the air and, after he has shot him, blasphemes: “What an idiot. Look at him.”

For this action, probably especially for the use of the word “pussy”, DrDisrespect was apparently banned by Activision Blizzard for 7 days.

The segment begins at around 4:36 hours:

    “You’ve lost touch so much”

This is what he says about the ban: Other streams show DrDisrespect playing on a different account. Then he says: He has to calm down a bit in the proximity chat, his own account has been banned for 7 days.

He obviously can’t really understand the ban. He believes he was only banned to “make an example” of him – he’s heard much worse things from other players.

From his point of view, he was banned here for “trash talk on both sides”:

People are just so aloof. You’re banning me from a $100,000 tournament right now? It’s insane how much people have lost touch.

The tournament was the OpTic Texas Warzone 2 $100,000 Tournament, a tournament for content creators that took place on November 21st, so actually right after DrDisrespect was banned: WarsZ & zCoorss won the tournament and bagged 35,000 $ prize money.

This is behind it: DrDisrespect repeatedly uses the proximity chat in Warzone 2 for psychological warfare, fooling opponents or tricking them. For him, this is a tool to entertain his viewers. As you know, he loves trash talk.

From DrDisrespect’s point of view, he is an “advertising ambassador” for Warzone 2 with its many viewers on YouTube and he expects Activision Blizzard to give him more freedom, but he still feels like a scapegoat here, who is being watched particularly closely.

Also others say (via reddit). The ban for this action is exaggerated, many people would actually abuse the proximity chat to yell racist swear words or play extremely loud music. Hardly anyone really understands the ban.

DrDisrespect feels “badly treated” by Activision Blizzard anyway:
