Previously, Twitch partners were tied exclusively to the streaming platform. That changed when the rules were relaxed. Former Twitch golden boy Guy “DrDisrespect” Beahm IV, 40, pokes fun at the rule by specifically violating it.
Who is DrDisrespect?
DrDisrespect’s Twitch ban is arguably the most well-known and controversial in the history of the streaming platform. But other bans have also caused discussions.
Two years after his ban, the Doc is still breaking the rules of Twitch
This rule change is: Until now, Twitch partners were obliged to offer their live streams exclusively on Twitch. That has now been relaxed.
However, there is still one important exception: Streamers are not allowed to be live on Twitch and a platform like YouTube or Facebook at the same time.
You can read about what else has changed in the rules here.
Twitch changes important rules, now allows partners to Facebook and YouTube – but not always
How DrDisrespect reacts: Controversy and provocation are the YouTuber’s trademark. So he wouldn’t be him if he didn’t take the opportunity to taunt Twitch. He therefore announced a special live stream on Twitter.
What is this live stream? The live stream should be a so-called simulcast. That means the Doc will be on YouTube and Facebook at the same time. If you’ve always wondered what the streaming experience is like on the social media platform, you can find DrDisrespect’s Facebook page here.
DrDisrespect joked: Let’s see if he can ignore the chat on two platforms at the same time.
DrDisrespect is welcomed to “Granny Platform”.
These are the reactions: On Twitter and reddit, people scoff at Facebook. The Doc must have hit rock bottom to stream on Facebook after so many times poking fun at their gaming program. (via Twitter)
Others would like to support DrDisrespect, but there’s a problem: They haven’t had a Facebook account for years. They wonder who is still using the social media platform and if they can watch without an account.
Is there a plan behind it? Some fans sense a plan behind the action. If the stream is successful and the numbers are high, especially on Facebook, that could motivate YouTube to offer the doc an exclusive contract after all. (via Reddit)
Exactly this is a sore point for DrDisrespect:
DrDisrespect’s mustache is crooked: Maybe because many Twitch streamers are making big money on YouTube right now – just not him
However, it could also turn out very differently. Instead of YouTube, Facebook Gaming could come up with the idea of buying DrDisrespect exclusively.

Do you still use Facebook or are you hearing about the fact that you can also watch live streams there for the first time? What do you think of the idea of simultaneous streams? Please leave us a comment with your opinion.
DrDisrespect has been known to freak out. Perhaps we will soon be able to marvel at such freaks out on Facebook:
