In the DRC, tensions are growing between the Minister of Justice, Constant Mutamba, and the magistrates grouped within the Autonomous Union of Magistrates of Congo (Synamac). The latter can no longer stand the public statements of the minister, whom they accuse of populism. Synamac denounces what it considers to be a tendency of the Minister of Justice to make the magistrates bear the exclusive responsibility for the dysfunctions of the administration of justice. For his part, the minister does not intend to remain passive in the face of these criticisms and insists on courageous reforms that must also affect the body of magistrates.
