Five days after announcing its withdrawal, Saturday March 22, 2025, the rebellious AFC/m23 movement is still present in Walikale-Center, about 400 kilometers from Kisangani. The group justifies its maintenance by the presence of drones of the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo (FARDC) in the area, a condition which it considers not respected. The Congolese army has not yet reacted, but on the ground, the tension remains and the population movements continue. According to local sources, no bombing has taken place in recent days.
